Supper in Shanghai

Jonathan is a lucky man,
this is what was on offer for supper today...

Spicy tofu cooked
with
beef, chilli. broad bean sauce,
shallots, pepper, ginger and garlic.

As if that were not enough,
Ming Ming had also baked a cake.

A chocolate cake.

Ming Ming, this is just too cruel of you.

Email me a slice, quickly!

No wonder you are smiling, Jonny.

The view from the balcony
of
Jonny & Ming Ming's Shanghai flat.

Surprising, isn't it?

  1. Shanghai looks lovely, at least that part does. Like the majority ( I think) of people I am almost totally ignorant about China. You say that you live on the edge of nowhere, I must live on the opposite edge. On the borders of Lincs, Cambs and Norfolk, we are within easy access of Norwich, Cambridge, Peterborough and Stamford, Spalding, Lynn and Wisbech are very close. The village is small and I have views of open fields, we have a school, church and shop.

  4. Close to illegally good cooking! Lucky man, indeed. I thought about your balcony view question for some minutes, then remembered the British colonial experience. A lot of territory was involved in the sun never setting.

  5. Hello elaine
    A nice new blog.
Ming is certainly cooking nice dishes..that chocolate cake looks delicious.
I see that Ming and Johnothan live in the old colonial part of Shangai. Less high rise buildings.
I have a very good friend who lives there..she loves it.
happy days with Bramble Ramble.. xx val
