Since late last summer Ming Ming and Jonathan have been back in China.
Jonathan is working at
a Shanghai university
and
Ming Ming is attending
a very demanding cookery school
studying hard
and
learning how to cook and present
the most wonderful food.
As you can imagine, Jonathan is very happy to eat food like this! |
Ming Ming is learning knife skills,
slicing,
chopping
and
creating works of art, which are surely
too good to eat.
Beautiful, delicate flowers
Sorry, this one is upside down! |
art on a plate.
She was an excellent cook before she started this
intensive course
but by the time she has finished it
she will be amazing.
I love the skills and the art and design which go into these
but
the photograph which makes me most hungry
is
Ming Ming's home made bread and a baked cheesecake.
They will be back here for a few weeks in the summer;
I feel a party coming on.

ReplyDeleteSuch a daughter-in-law. You're right; cheesecake and bread is more satisfying than radish roses. But they are beautiful!

ReplyDeleteAs you say; lucky Jonathan!
ReplyDeleteHello:
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing creations but, rather like you, it is the sight of those wonderful loaves of bread which really get our taste buds going. And we almost can smell it from here!
Jó hétvégét!
How could she not make such scrummy food wearing that most glorious of pinafores?

I am so reminded of my time in Taiwan when we went there to pick up Maddie. The artful way they present food made it so inviting and we all took photos before we dug in! I love the photo of her in the apron and would like to send one for you to give her when she comes this summer. Please let me know her favorite colours, XOXO
ReplyDeleteMy word, it all looks delicious! Well done, Ming Ming :)
